Fox Claw was born to Branch Feather and Vanilla Rose alongside his siblings: Lark Spot, Fire Splash, Kinglet Storm, and Petal Fish. He was mentored by Milkweed Pelt. Despite almost falling behind, he graduates on time and is honored for his gallantry. On Moon 74, Fox Claw falls into the lake and inhales a bunch of water.

On Moon 92, he becomes mates with Grama Pelt. He gets his paw injured in a Twoleg object. On Moon 102, he and Grama Pelt break up. He was attacked by a group of rats, and then got his tail injured by a large dog. On Moon 116, he brings four kits back to StreamClan: Sleet Puddle, White Claw, Yarrow Flower, and Frost Fur. The mother is Dawn Shine of LeafClan.
